Ethiopia Travel Advice Reissued

This Advice was last issued on Thursday, 16 October 2014.   This advice contains new information in the Summary and under Safety and security (the US Embassy in Ethiopia issued a message to US citizens on 14 October 2014 advising of a possible terrorist threat to Bole area of Addis Ababa). We continue to advise Australians to reconsider their need to travel to Ethiopia, including Addis Ababa, due to the threat of terrorist attack against Western interests and ongoing tensions.

Central African Republic Travel Advisory Changed

This Advice was last issued by DFAT on Tuesday, 21 October 2014.   This advice includes updated information in the Summary and under Entry and exit (the Central African Republic may take preventative measures to avoid the spread of Ebola, including border closures). We continue to strongly advise you not to travel to the Central African Republic. The security situation across the country, including Bangui, remains fragile due to ongoing serious and indiscriminate violence, activities of armed rebels and other groups and high levels of serious crime.
